please could you advise on a decent 22-24 inch monitor for my pc.

To be honest, your best bet is to go to PCWorld, or similar, and have a look to see which you prefer. Monitor picture can be a very individual choice. What one person perceives as being very good may not be the same as how the next viewer sees it.

Make a note of the one which suits you, and then have a look online for the best price.

If image processing is your primary use of the monitor, then better get a wide-gamut screen. However, be aware that wide-gamut screens require a proper ICC monitor profile installed in your system, or the colours of your images will be severely off.

Expect to pay at least £300.00 for a good wide gamut monitor and if you are proper serious, look for the EIZO Flexscan range of monitiors.
