Monitor USB hub.

Please excuse the lack of tech. knowledge.

I have a CTX VL710 monitor which has an integrated USB hub and connects to my PC using a USB cable, originally providing extra USB 1.1 ports.
I have recently upgraded my PC and now have USB 2 outlets. If I now connect the Monitor hub to one of the new USB 2 connections will the ports on the hub act as USB 2 or will they still operate at USB 1.1 speeds.
I understand that the cables for USB1 and 2 are the same ( is that correct?) so can I simply plug the hub into the USB2 port on the PC using the same original cable ?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

You can use them whichever they are they will just default to ver 1.1
Check your monitor manual should tell you.
I have Iiyama with usb hub and manual states rev1.1 compliance

Thanks for the quick response.
I take it that it that USB 1.1 and USB 2 hubs are not the same and simply supplied with either USB1.1 or 2 source.
If that is correct as the monitor is about 2 years old I assume it won't be USB 2 compliant ??

I agree it is most likely 1.1 but then again not up to the mark on this. Will have a quick look round

Apparantly you can have usb hubs ver1.1 and 2.0.
Belkin have 2.0 hubs on their website.
You could always send an e-mail to the monitor manufacturers see if they can give you the info.
