Monitor resolution problem

Hi

I have just bought a smamsung 245B 24" widescreen monitor. My machine has a matrox QID quad graphics card (supporting 3 screens in total)

The problem i have is the monitor is native 1920x1200 resolution whereas the graphics card has a max resolution of 1600x1200.

this means that most images displayed on the new monitor are stretched and ultimately of poor quality (the main use of it is to play online poker with 4 tables displayed at once)

Is there a way to view the images on the screen without them being stretched (similar to viewing 4:3 pics on a widescreen tv with the balck bars down each side)

Any help will be gratefully received, thanks in advance

You can try Power Strip to get the correct monitor 1920x1200 resolution

If that don’t work you will need to replace the display card for one that will display 1920x1200 resolution

Choose a resolution with as close an aspect ratio as your monitor that's possible. Then at least your pictures won't look too stretched.

1600x900 and 1600x1024 look the closest to me.

Thanks ever so much mate, power strip seems to have improved the image quality greatly. I dare say will be even better once i fully understand how to use it
