Monitor Ratios Windows v. Dos

I changed the monitor a few months ago to a MAC 1780 (TFT). Cheap and excellent.
Am running it from a Voodoo 4500 AGP and in Windows98SE it functions very well indeed at Truecolour 1280x1024.

The snag is on the rare occasions when I am working in DOS.......the bottom of the screen is not visible or accessible unless I either type CLS or change the monitor buttons.......It has to be the weird ratio I am using!

I certainly don’t intend to change the monitor buttons anyway.........I can live with it. It brings back memories of bad days in DOS long ago when to rescue the situation it was sometimes necessary to type blind........I can still do this and of course an error will scroll up to show itself.

Has anyone a quick fix for this?

I suppose the answer is self evident.........change the ratio to more "normal" proportions.
