I have a problem with my monitor on my desktop (I'm assuming its the monitor because when I turn on the computer I hear the beep and the windows vista sound on the logon screen). The cables are connected securely but the monitor briefly flashes No Input Signal and goes into standby mode. I have rebooted several times and the same thing happens. I connected the monitor to my laptop and it worked.....for all of 10 seconds and then flashed No Input Signal and again went into standby mode. The monitor is an Edge 10 19", and when I logged off last night everything was fine.........any suggestions ???

I should also note there was a bad ozone smell when it was connected to the laptop......don't know if that's relevent or not.

Ozone smells are normally associated with old CRT displays, if this is the case you should treat yourself to a modern LCD model and enjoy the extra deskspace.
