Monitor-Graphics card compatibility

I've decided it's time to upgrade my monitor which is currently 15".
I reckon that I may as well go for a 22" or 24" widescreen. My only concern is whether the Nvidia GeForce4 MX 440SE AGP8X I have is up to the job, or will it need replacing?
Any help much appreciated.

It should cope in my opinion, the only concern I might have is that to a degree it depends on the optimum resolution for the monitor and if you then run the graphics card at the optimum for the monitor then it will put it under pressure a bit, this might be ok for many things but if you play games with it the graphics card might struggle.
Its a huge jump from a 15" to something like a 24".

What I would do is try it and see. You don't have to run the monitor at the optimal settings if you don't want to. Try it.

Thanks Totally-braindead,

I have my eye on a Dell 22" or 24". It wouldn't be used for games - mostly photo editing and day to day web browsing etc. I would want to run it at its maximum res - 22" 1680x1050
