I WANT TO BUY & INSTALL A NEW MODEM THAT WILL GIVE ME FAX & VOICE ACCESS & FASTER INTERNET CONNECTION (IM NOT IN A BROADBAND ENABLED AREA )
IVE SEEN SOME THAT SAY 128K INSTEAD OF 56K IS THIS WHAT I NEED ?
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRICIATED

56K is the fastest modem you can use in a non broadband enabled area - this is the theoretical maximum speed - in reality it is more likely to be 48K.

They are probably thinking of the ISDN (Home Highway) service (64kbps) which can be doubled up by "bundling" two data channels to give 128kbps - the penalty is that the telephone cost is doubled..:-)

I think all dial-up modems are Fax modems, you can pick one up for around £10 NEW.

You could always try internet satellite!

JOYCETHEKIWI wants the voice facility as well.

Here's some PCI hardware types - better than the cheapo ones in the long run:

What ISP are you with? Freeserve/Wannado (and maybe others) DO NOT support V.92 yet.
