I used to get a dialogue box, then clicked on connect i.e. I was in control.
Now the password box and Connect Automatically are checked and greyed out.
How do I stop Connect Automatically.
WindowsXP Home

Why do you want to? - this is the normal way it works.

arricarry
Thank you for the response.
I want to confirm that the connection can go ahead, i.e. click on Connect to proceed.

But you do that when you click whatever icon you use to go on line do you not?

If you click "work offline" in the file menu, this will give you temporary relief. But you will have to unclick it before you can click connect again.

Have a look at your right click your DUN choose Properties then Security, is the Connect automatically ticked?

Go Control Panel, open Dial-Up Networking, Right click your DUN choose Properties then Security, is the Connect automatically ticked?

Thank you all. Could not find "Connect automatically" in DUN properties. It is WinXP Home.
Cured by removing Connection, then re installing.
