Mobile phone pictures to computer hard drive

I have Win98SE and IE6.I am considering purchasing a mobile phone with a built-in camera. Will it be possible to transfer pictures from the phone to my computer hard drive albeit with a suitable cable connection? From the hard drive could I then transfer such photos to a CD-RW and maybe edit them in the process? Thanks in advance for any advice.

You just use the phone to email the picture to you.

Not great quality at computer screen size though.

As mentioned above simply email it to yourself as nearly all phones that take pictures will let you do that. Failing that you can get a data cable for most phones but I think they're pretty expensive. Also u could use bluetooth or infared. I personally use bluetooth. Bought a USB bluetooth adaptor for my laptop for under £15 and am well pleased with it.
