I would appreciate it if someone could give me a run down on how you go about using your laptop at an 'Internet Hotspot' eg airport. I have a wireless setup at home and use Blueyonder broadband however I am not sure how to go about logging on if I take my laptop away and want to log on to any of the available hotspots. Do I need to install any further software and do I need a seperate account?.

they will sell you a timed temp account and tell you how to get connected, no software install is needed

The hotspot operators will provide you with a temporary account on their router. They'll give you a login, and that's all you'll need - your laptop will detect the wireless hotspot and you just tell it to connect. When the login box pops up just enter the information the operator provided, and that's it - you're online.
