mmtask-illegal operation during windows 98 startup

I get the follwoing message durind win 98 startup.Can anyone help?

It is to do with your sound card...

Start > Run > Type: Msconfig

Click ok and click startup at the top, find mmtask and remove the tick next to it. Reboot, message gone hopfully.

If you have any problems with your sound reinstall the drive and/or software for the sound card.
