Following a lightning strike a nieghbours machine has his phone line damaged and modem blown. The Machine is an E-Machines with Win -Millenium
BT duly sorted the line, and I went shopping for him and purchased an external modem and a surge protected connector strip.
On setting up I found his internet connection has gone awry as well. Got that sorted only to find the Outlook Express was damaged and the old familiar DialUp panel would not come up, although I could connect directly with the dialup In the dial box in settings.
The answer seemd to me to get hold of one of good old PCA cover disks and put Explorer 6 on.
The first attempt stalled the machine. As the Install icone faded and accapt page came up, ticking accept killed the machine.
Another PCA disk this time got past that and indicated that it was all inplace all ready. So I selected reinstall All, which done in flash But a search would only reveal Outlook Express 5 with a missing dll.
