Missing Fonts in Word 2000

  ened 14:38 11 Jun 2008

I hope somebody can help with this because I have looked on Google and ended up even more confused.

My old machine was XPpro and I typed up several documents using the font: TypoUpright BT.

I now have a Vista Ultimate machine with Word 2000 and I can read the old documents, and even print the font, but it is not in the list of fonts under the Format/Fonts menu.

It is really inconvenient because the only way to use this font is to open a document which has used it and then type over the existing text.

Also it doesn't work when I try to paste text.

I expect I have missed something obvious but some pointers will be much appreciated.

Try downloading it free from here, (last from bottom)

install it in the folder Windows, fonts, (if its not already there). May work; it does on my XP machine and Word 2003.

I've done that and it wasn't there.

This begs the question: why wasn't it there?

Same programme, same installation disc and I have never before downloaded a font from the internet, so it must have been in the original installation.
