missing files when copying folders

Hi! I've tried copying a folder (name 'A' of 65GB) and pasting it into another folder (Name 'B') using windows explorer on the same partition drive ( capacity 150 GB) whilst in safe mode ( win xp professional with sp2) and for some strange reason my computer hung. Now, both the folders A and B contain 0 files, 0 bytes. But when I check the properties of this drive, its still shows the space used on the drive as 65GB which means that these files are still physically present, only I can't view them!!!! Please can somebody help me and instruct me what to do? These files are very important to me and I dont want to loose them.
