Missing drive?

  pcuser1 10:52 31 Aug 2007

I have just swapped a drive over from my Windows XP system so I can bakup all the files on it before using it as the master. It was running on Windows ME but I corrupted the MBR but used a spare drive to install windows XP to get the system up and running now the drive appears in device manager but not in My computer so I am unable to access the files on it any ideas where I have gone wrong?

Right click My Computer

Select Manage

Select Drive Manager

Does the drive show here? is it assigned a drive letter? if not right click and select Assign drive letter and choose a letter from the drop down list.

Have you got the new drive (XP) jumpered as Master and the old drive jumpered as Slave, or try both as cable select if it's supported.
