I regularly receive five or six messages a day which are not addressed to me, making various pornographic suggestions. If the address was correct, I could understand it, but can anyone explain how it is that my ISP transmits them to me? If I send an email, the address has to be correct in every detail. The senders' names are always different, although there is only a small number of different messages. I don't see how normal blocking procedures would work. It's easy enough to delete them, but it puzzles me how they get through in the first place.
My address is (not the real one) :"Something@ISP.etc", but the messages are to names starting with "Some", and my correct name doesn't figure. I don't know how mailwasher would help here, if my ISP doesn't.
Indigo 1...Yeah i`ve done all that, gone into properties and copied and pasted all the info and sent them to virgin, total waste of time.
VoG....used mailwasher for about 2 months thinking if i kept blocking then i would eventually slow the flood, but no such luck, they just change their addresses.
I don't use the account anymore and at the moment it is blocked with 2420 spam emails, which i am going to leave in to stop anymore arriving.I cant close the account as i have let someone else in the UK take over my Gymnastic Website on my free space as i now live in Spain, and i am no longer involved. I suppose i will have to clear some and send some on the account in case they think its not used and close it.
