anyway can I used a USB2 stick on a USB1 system??
in other words is a USB2 backwards compatable with OSB1

It might well be to your advantage if your MOB does not offer USB 2, to install a Belkin USB2 PCI Card. That way your Memory Stick will work a lot faster, plus any other Hardware that supports USB 2 connected to the USB 2 PCI.

If you decide to get one, then go for one that has the most USB slots.

They have got some PCI USB2 cards in PC World with 4 external and 1 internal USB ports, for about £40. As freaky wrote, all your USB2 devices would benefit from the extra speed. No doubt someone else will be able to let us know of somewhere else where this device is available even cheaper.
