Min Spec for dvd writer

What's the minimum spec for running a dvd writer comfortably?

The requirements listed for mine are Pentium lll, 700Mhz or higher, memory 128 Mb or greater. Hard disk 5GB or more free space. Enhanced IDE interface. Drive bay 5.25 half-height bay. Power +5v/+12v power socket. OS Windows 98/2000 Professional/ME/XP (Home edition/Professional)
I run mine under XP with AMD 2500+ with 512 MB memory.
Hope that gives an idea.

Thanx for your prompt reply. A friend wanted a dvd re-writer fitted to his P3-1ghz, 128mb Ram, 40Gig h/drive, Xp home. system.

However, the shop tried to sell him another system, advising nothing below a 1.4Ghz CPU and 256mb Ram.

Further advice please.

BigAl127 the PIII should be ok but I would certainly consider increasing the RAM with 128 you wont even be getting the best from XP
