I have windows 7 home premium,I have just migrated my C drive to a new SSD drive. Now I'm in a bit of a fix really I want to remove the Old Sata HDD and fit the new SSD one in my desktop. I'm a bit confused on how to get the pc to boot from the new SSD with the operating system on it.Any Help here please not quite sure of the bios settings. many Thanks.

Shut down

remove sata cable in old drive from port in motherboard

connect sata cable from SSD to that port (port0)

see if machine boots with just the SSD (this will tell you if you have cloned the old drive to the SSD correctly).

if Ok shut down and connect the Sata cable to the next sta port (port1)

should boot again from SSD drive and you can now do what you wish with old drive (delete windows or even reformat it.

Thanks for the reply,Did what you said and was okay. Now I have a slight problem with setting the Bios to boot from the new SSD,I press F2 F12 with no luck the only joy I get is F9 but there is an option to boot from SSD then it says to select F10 to save. But on reboot I have to go into that F9 settings everytime,When I select the DEL key it looks very complicated,Do you have any help on this Please. Thanks.
