Microsoft.NET Framework. Version 2.0.

  Cargill 09:00 22 Jul 2007

Every time I switch on my computer the Automatic Update icon is showing. It says that update KB928365 is available for updating Microsoft.NET Framework. Version 2.0.
I update it but the icon appears again. Looking at my Update History, it states that KB928365 has been installed 25 times in the past week.
How do I fix this. I have tried un-installing Version 2.0 and also Version 3.0 whic is also installed but a message states that it cannot un-install. It refers me to click here but I still cannot un-install.
I am not clear why these programmes are installed on my computer. What are they for ?

Cargill, i had the same problem, just with that update.
I contacted Microsoft and they emailed me a fix that worked a treat.

Here it is.

Step 1:

1. Download and install the 'Windows Installer Clean up Utility' from the link given below:

2. Then, 'Run' it. To do so, click on 'Start', point to 'All Programs'. Click on 'Windows Install Clean Up'.

3. Please delete all listed '.NET Framework 2.0' related programs.

4. Use 'Add/ Remove Program' to remove '.Net Framework 2.0' from the computer.

Step 2: Download and Install '.NET Framework 2.0':

After removing previous '.NET Framework installation', please download '.NET Framework

2.0'. Here are the detailed steps:

1. Please download and install the 'Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package' from the following link.

2. If you are prompted, restart the computer when the installation finishes.

Step 3:

Download and install NET Framework 2.0 (KB928365) manually:
