Could be you... ;-}

OK here; earlier I got an error message on WindowsUpdate.com but that may be a coincidence.

You could have a virus.

Deep breaths...

  Gaz 25 19:37 17 Feb 2004

No virus I dont think.

As it is behind VPN gateway protection AND has Norton AV 2004 installed.

I have also run 2 online virus scans, and the only processes running in 98se are Explorer, systray, rnaapp, Navapw32, ccapp, mailwasher, and 3 IEs.

All other sites, Symantec, Trend, Panda, PCA, Google work fine, hosts file is empty so I dont think its that.

It could be my ISP, but oddly windowsupdate.microsoft.com works but not microsoft.com

It would indicate a HOSTS file, but all is empty, other than the bit explaining about it.

Can someone shed some more light on this please?

Same problem here - no access to that site although like you no problem anywhere else. I'm running 98SE too, is Mr. gates trying to tell us something??

  Gaz 25 20:22 17 Feb 2004

I think it is a 98 borne problem. All my XP systems connected through the SAME gateway connection can access it, just not the 98 systems.

All are up-to-date with every patch installed. I think its a patch myself?

Thanks.
