I have just bought a new pc. On my old pc when I copied a webpage or some text and pasted it in word it used to ask me whther I wanted to keep formatting or match destination formattinf, it doesnt ask me now. How can I set it to match destination formatting?

To enable the Paste Options button:

1. Click Tools and select Options
2. Open the Edit tab
3. Under Cut and paste options, tick Show Paste Options buttons
4. Click OK

What version of Word are you using?

In Word 2003 when I paste I get a paste options button (smart tag) at the bottom of the item I have pasted and from that I can select "match destination formatting".

I don't get a prompt.

Smart tags appeared in word 2002

As Woolwell says Smart Tags didn't appear until Office XP (2002) so the feature you want isn't available in Word 2000. click here.
