Microsoft Problems Reports and Solution

  playmofire 14:48 17 Sep 2008

Today, a message about the above suddenly appeared on the toolbar and when I opened it it listed a number of problems and solutions to download. Not all seemed accurate. For example, it said Firefox was out of date, but I am running version 3.0.1 which is the latest version and I have automatic download of new versions.

Does anyone know anything about this new Microsoft "help" - is it genuine? does it work? (apparently not in at least one case for me) and does it cause more problems than it solves?

It is genuine, and it can help. However as you have found out it is not infallible. Worth looking at if you have a problem.

"Microsoft "help" - is it genuine?"

First of all Microsoft will not tell you any thing about Firefox

I would just delete or ignore and do a anti virus, malware, spyware, scan

Thanks rawprawn, and, yes, ambra4, it does refer to Firefox, just referring you to the Mozilla website. It also directs users to manufacturers's sites, e.g. Epson and Fuji.
