Microsoft Outlook

I posted the following problem a few days ago:

“Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook.MAPI32.DLL is corrupt or the wrong version. This could have been caused by installing other messaging software. Please reinstall Outlook”

sidecar sid kindly referred me to a Microsoft site which confidently stated that running the applet (?) fixmapi.exe, to be found in Windows/System32, would solve matters. However, despite my saying that the problem had been overcome, it hasn’t. All I get when double clicking fixmapi.exe is that the hourglass displays for a few seconds and then goes off and nothing more happens. I turned my machine off and then rebooted, but still I get the message above.

Didn't see your other thread (a link would have helped) but have you tried Detect and Repair on the Help menu?

Hello VoG™, I'm sorry but although it never crossed my mind to link to my previous post, I don't know how.

Unfortunately, because Microsoft Office Outlook doesn't open 'Detect and Repair' isn't an option.
