Microsoft Lifecam install problem

  Murghalador 14:32 24 Sep 2007

I bought a Microsoft Lifecam for use on my Sony Vaio desktop running XP on Intel4 processor.
I loaded the software and driver from the CD by following the prompts on the wizard. I got a message saying the new hardware had been found and new program too. Short cuts are on the desktop.

When I click on the shortcut or in the program list i get a screen to show the camera output by then nothing happens. When I look in control panel it show the Lifecam is not responding and in processes it shows 97% usage for Lifecam exe.

I have tried reloading the software 3 times but it still won't work.

Any ideas please?

BAD BLOCK: When a device is eaither not plugged in properly or is blocked by foreign objects such as dust.

Software installation maybe invalid:
Reinstall the software in safe mode.
