Does anyone know how to remove this from ones system please ? In the Add/Remove programs, it shows up in the list, but there is no facility to remove it ! The only way I can think of doing it is to use System restore to the point before I installed it but then I would lose the updates that I subsequently installed. Any ideas ?

Why do you want to remove it? If you remove it you will only have to install it again for future updates.

If it's because your firewall is preventing it accessing the Internet then just allow it access and then forget about it.

Difficult to remove but there are ways to disable.

However if you remove or disable you will get no more updates from MSoft.

You can update without it, just uncheck that particular patch number.

It's a phone home program. Not a Security update. I have it on my XP Laptop but not on Desktop computer. I found out after I installed it to Laptop

Its a lump of Spyware and it's been made by Microsoft.
