Is anyone out there finding that despite updating Microsoft Antispy to 5721 manually, - a day or so later it updates itself to 5719 and proudly proclaims that it has done this automatically. You check out the version displayed and find that it has inded replaced 5721 with 5719. You then manually update and it downloads 5721.
This has been happening over the last few days.

Any ideas?

Bump

Not happening to me. Sounds odd I must admit.

I have three PC's and this is happening on all three, so I would assume logically that it is not attributable to my main PC.

This might be a bug. I have seen a reference to it in the Microsoft Newsgroups. click here Look in "General".

From Keith S's link, if you go down to the tread "BUG: Problems updating to Defs5721", someone suggested downloading the Antispyware s/w again.

Last night I uninstalled Microsoft Antispy on one PC, reinstalled and updated from 5687 to 5721 in one go. this morning I checked and it still showed as being 5721. I then looked for updates to find that it was updating from 5719 to 5721!! My main PC still displayed 5721 but on checking updates it also stated that it was updating from 5719 to 5721!!
I would therefore imagine that there nust be some kind of bug with the update 5721.
Comment anyone?
