Microsoft 97 + XP home

Hi, i run microsoft windows XP Home, and tried to install Microsoft Office 97 recently on it.
However i was not able to do so and have a '16bit Windows Subsystem' error message which states:
'C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. System file is not suitable for running MSDOS and MS WINDOWS applications. Choose close to terminate the application'.
I'm served with 2 options - CLOSE and IGNORE. Either one i click, it would not install.
I've checked, an dis sure that I'm running a FAT32 file system.
Also, i have SP2 on my windows XP home.
Does anyone know how i can get about installing office 97?

Not sure why it won't install. I have one PC with XP Home (SP2) that I have installed Office 97 professional on. The only difference is that XP is installed using NTFS rather that Fat32 (I think XP runs much better with NTFS).
