Since updating my laptop to Windows 7 the on board microphone does not work. When trying to access it I get the message no audio device installed. The speakers work OKMany thanks
did you run the motherboard cd after the installation of w7? This puts drivers in place for your devices. Even though the cd was not for w7 it is still needed.
Hi HowardNo I must admit I didn't think I would need to. I will give it a try thanks
I have just tried that but get the message Exception EconverterError in module Setup.exe at 000079C0 is not a valid integer value. Whatever that means. It also states that MSVBVM50.dll is missing
Go to your motherboard manufacturer website and download the latest drivers
Hi Unfortunately the laptop manufacturer went under a year ago and I do not have any information regarding the motherboard. the instructions on the installation CD do not give details. Many thanks
Install Belarc click here and install it and it will give you the motherboard manufacturer and chipset
Thanks. Belarc shows it as an Elitegroup motherboard No ECS G335.downloaded the the drivers and installed them. Microphone still does not work. Many thanks
Click searach and then type microphone and tell me what it comes up with please
Manage audio device - No audio devices are installed. When trying to set one up.- Your current default speech engine does not support this action at this timeCheers
Ok try thisClick control panel>Hardware and sound>Manage audio devices>Recordings Tab>Double Click on microphone>Listen tab and then tick the box that says "listen to this device" and start speaking! If you hear yourself then you need to enabale the mic
