Message format in Outlook Express

Can anybody advise how to get rid of HTML code (I think that's what it is!) in messages received through Outlook Express? Example attached:

P class=MsoNormal> FONT face=Arial color=black size=3> SPAN
style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; BACKGROUND: white; COLOR: black; FONT-FAMILY:
Arial"> BR> /SPAN> /FONT> FONT face=Arial color=black size=2> SPAN

Is it my settings or settings from the sender? If I forward it on to my work email account I can view the contact properly.

Thanks.

Tools > Options > Read tab > untick 'Read all messages in plain text'.
