Memory upgrade.....Advice

  zinnie 17:41 08 Oct 2003

I am thinking of upgrading the memory in my PC
which has 256MB with an Athlon 1800+ running XP..

Would I see a better improvement adding another
256MB (PC100) or replacing the 256MB module with
a faster 256MB DDR module.

Anyone with any experience of a similar situation.

Does your motherboard support both sdram & ddr memory ? you cant fit ddr memory into a sdram slot.

More memory will help your computer run several applications simultaneously. Faster memory will let it perform a task more quickly. DDR is cheaper than PC100. (£34 against £45 at Crucial click here). I think you would do better to fit new DDR and build up from there.

Gongoozler.....thanks for your advice.DDR was
my own thinking....but I thought I would get
some other opinions on the subject.
