Memory upgrade problem.

I have just doubled my 512mb DDR Ram.
The computer recognises the extra and it tests OK in "Checkit".
But, I am now frequently getting a "There is not enough memory in the system to run this prog., close something and try again" message and closing anything that I can, makes no difference.
I am still running Win 98SE.
Anyone any ideas?

Windows 98 can only address 394mb of ram, you need a third party tool to get 98 to see more.

But why would the performance deteriorate?
Do you know what program would help?

You should find the answer in my link. There are fixes mentioned!

Seems to work, but I will have to read up on the detail.
