Memory upgrade for Packard Bell PC

I have been trying to help a retired gentleman to upgrade the memory on his Packard Bell PC currently 64Mb. I have installed 128Mb PC100 but the system is only recognising 64Mb of this. The shop where I bought the RAM said that it may not be compatible and has halved the amount of memory it recognises.

The gentleman does not have the motherboard book so we are unable to consult it.

The only information I have is:-

Packard Bell NEC P160100601
Serial No: G711800224
M/board Giggabyte i810 1.3A

Can anyone help please.

The PC is a "Club 60" built around the middle of 1998.

There is a motherboard manual here in pdf format which may help.

Gigabyte GA-6WMM7

try running the 128mb on its own, you may have 133mhz and the 64mb is 100mhz.

seem to remember having to fit the faster ram in the slot closest to the cpu, then fitting the slower 64mb when i upgraded mine.
