memory or graphics card

ive gone from xp to vista due to corrupt xp cd, doing the compatibilty check to see if my system can run vista advice was "this system can use vista however update your video card"(onboard graphics) but also says it needs at least a gb of mem to run well, i have 768mb ram so question is what would work best more mem or a new card or both

You have way to little memory, so increase that first, this will tell you what you need.

Then you could look at your graphics which you say are onboard,any graphics card is going to be better probably than what you have, but without knowing your motherboard it is difficult to advise an upgrade.

its a packard bell pc....using belarc its atx mainboard with a intel celeron 3.06ghz..vista sp 1.onboard sound and graphics.4yrs old
