Memory Configurations

I have built a new PC using an ASUS P5Q M/Board.
I am running Vista 32 bit.
As I understand it there is no point in installing more then 3GB of memory for Win 32 OS but as this M/Board supports Dual Channel memory it is best to have memory arranged in matching pairs - does that mean I can only have 2GB memory?

What would be best config
2 x 1GB
1 x 2GB
3 x 1 GB
1 x 2GB + 1 x 1GB
or
2 x 2GB

I currently have the machine working with one 2GB module but it could clearly do with more RAM - that's Vista for you!

Any help much appreciated.

2 X 2Gb

With the exception of the memory of your graphics card, if you have one. Windows should read about 3.4Gb in dual channel mode.

So you will have the best for your system.
