Memory access violation

  Munchkin 13:03 19 Dec 2009

I have installed software on my PC and when I try to run it I get a message "memory access violation" when I click "ok" to accept I then get another message saying the program is not responding and needs to shut down. My PC is more than capable of running the software in question with 3GB of RAM and a 2.8GHZ processor so what's going on?

This generally occurs when software tries to access memory it shouldn`t. There is an XP hotfix click here but if you are running another OS you will need to search it out.
