Hi all,

I have had a medion "Liftec" laptop donated to me and am seeking some info on it. I wondered if anyone had any idea as to a site (In english - I have found the Medion Site in the Netherlands) that may have a manual, driver updates or whatever?

The Laptop was brought from Tesco a few yeas ago and is Model number LT9886. (266Mhz - intel).

Also, wondered what sort of "Value" it may have as a basic word processor laptop (or "Notebook" as it calls itself).

Many thanks for any light shed on it!

I've had one of these for several years now and it has given sterling service for all basic computing needs. The HDD is small by todays standards (this model is probably four or five years old). It will provide excellent service for word processing, spreadsheets, internet access etc.

I don't know of any sites but the last contact numbers I have for the medionUK hotline (admittedly from 2 years ago) are: 0870 727 0370, 0870 729 7712 or 0870 727 1818.

The last medionuk address I have is: Medion House, 130 Faraday Park, Faraday Road, Dorcan, Swindon, Wiltshire SN3 5JF (01793 715715).

Hope this is of some help.

How are you getting on with the laptop??

Need any more help?

Hi GroupFC,

thank you very much for the help, unfortunately, the number you gave me simply suggested I go to the German website so back to where I started from. However, I now have another problem - The battery is completely dead and will not hold any charge at all, PC will boot and immediately shut down again.

Cheapest betteries I have found are in the region of £130 - £140.

Any Ideas?

click here is a good place for batteries. They don't list Medion, but I'm sure if you e-mail them the battery part number they'll come up with something.
