Media Player and Service Pack1

I downloaded and installed Service Pack 1 from the Windows Web site.

It appears Win Media Player nine was part of the set up.
However when online I now keep getting popup messages about spyware and other things. They are really annoying. Can I get rid of them.

Also my PC now has installed. Zone Alarm Pro, RegMecanic, Pest Patrol, Spybot S&D Regscrub, PopUp Hitman Adware 6.0 and Norton AV (all registered versions)

Do I need them all? and any suggestions on which ones to remove if not so. I know SpybotSD reports conflicts with Pest Patrol, but neither of these report conflicts and do not seem affected my PC. M

Are these Messenger Service pop-ups click here ?

Windows media player 9 won't be the cause of the pop-ups, I've had it installed for moths and never get pop-ups.

What you need is a pop-up stopper, or a different web browser.

For option A try the Google search bar, it is very effective at stopping pop-ups.

For Option B try Mozilla Firefox click here this is a very good, skinnable, open-source web browser.
