media player licence problem

Windows XP Home SP2, WMP 10. I did a repair install of XP at the weekend to correct one or two niggling issues. However, on trying to playback some previously downloaded music, I get the error

"Windows Media Player cannot play, synchronize, or burn a protected file because an error occurred while verifying the license." - referred to as C00D11DA on the MS site.

I've tried reinstalling WMP and re-downloading the songs but keep getting the same message. I've also tried restoring the Licence Backup folder from a recent backup, which hasn't helped. Could the licences be corrupted? Obviously, I don't have any useful restore points now. I also didn't realise I was supposed to back up the licenses on a regular basis.

WMP still plays music ripped from CD ok.

If you downloaded the music you would have a licence to play it most sites where you pay for music will let you download again you need to contact them and explain what has happened.

That link seems to have done the trick - many thanks :-)
