I download quite a bit of music, and i notice that sometimes a MD5 file is included.I know this has something to do with checking that the data is not corrupt etc, but i haven't a clue how to use this file.In very simple terms could someone tell me how to do this, as i want to make the most of the muisc downloaded.Thankyou.

MD5 is a hashing algorithm - to all intents and purposes (excluding contrived collisons) each and every file has a unique MD5 value.

Therefore when a file to be downloaded is supplied with an MD5 hash, the downloader can use a utility such as that in DS's link - hash the downloaded file and compare this to the value supplied - if they match this is confirmation that the download has been successful and no data has been lost.
