MD XP-M 2600 Power Consumption

  FredM 11:33 30 Jan 2005

The XP-M 2500 consumes 45 watts. The XP-M 2600 is said by a seller to cosume 72W.

I cannot find a website listing power usage of XP-Ms (NOT AMD!!!). Does anyone know what current and power the 2600 consumes?

it depends on the cpu you get and what the codes are on it.

there are 3 models - a 45 watt barton, a 72 watt barton and a 72 watt throrughbred

click here this is a good file for identifying cpu's

the multiplier on these chips is unlocked so laptops can reduce the multiplier and underclock the cpu which reduces power usage

if you have it in a desktop and overclock it this increases power usage - because you normally have to increase the vcore voltage which also increases the cpu temp.
