McAfee -cannot remove!

  Maughan 21:55 16 Feb 2006

I have had enough of repeated problems with McAfee Anti-Virus (and associated security features) and so have deactivated it and installed Norton instead.

I have since tried to remove McAfee (including the "Security Centre") using Windows Add/Remove, but it just won't let me do it. It says I need to remove all McAfee components before removing the Security Centre, but I am sure I have done that.

Has anyone else had problems trying to get rid of McAfee components?!

Thank you!

Yes you have to uninstall all apps one by one and Security Centre last of all. Check your add/remove list. If you have IE7 beta installed, it wont uninstall at all, IE7 has to be uninstalled first. Was trying to upgrade to 2006 version with IE7 installed and had to resort to McAfee chat support to resolve that one. The answer being uninstall IE7 then it works.
