Mcafee anti-virus has found nasty

windows xp, sp2.
Doing scan with Mcafee and it has found jar[1].jar c:\documents and settings.Have tried to clean but will not.Is this safe to be deleated.Thanks for help.

It is possibly a false positive, jar[1].jar is probably a Java archive of some sort, from memory some AV software flag part of the archive as a possible threat, something like Java Byteverify, or similar, I think.

Check on Google for the name of the file flagged up.

Quite right...

It is a Java archive, and is almost certainly a false positive. Ignore it, then maybe get a better (free) AV.

ok,so is it safe to leave in quarantine or do i delete it as i do not fully understand what to do with it,thanks for all your help
