I have a new Maxtor one touch back up external HD. It has this rather unique & simple way of backing up ones entire PC which is great. I did my first b/u the other day but the files are not Windows folders or anything familiar. They are Maxtors own icons with code numbers.

I then looked at the instructions which seems to indicate that I have to install Windows XP & IE Exporer on to the Maxtor. Does anyone know if this is the case?

I have one of these, but a year or two old. Maybe something changed but I don't remember any such suggestion. It would be weird to require XP installed on the drive. It's at home and I'll check later. I don't actually use this facility because I like having accessible files and folders, so I use a different backup programme.
