Maxtor 200GB Serial ATA windows loading problem

  henza_mapenza 20:00 02 Jan 2005

i have bought a maxtor diamondplus 10 HD and have used maxblast to copy the entire contents on my C: into the Maxtor HD (H:). I wanted windows to load from my Maxtor HD so i have changed my Maxtor drive letter to C and my previous HD (C:) to H:. Now when loading windows from the new HD everything works up to the point when i have to type in my password. Once i have typed it in it says loading personal settings then immediately logs off without loading the desktop and the things after that. This now happens to both my HD as to see if it loads on my old HD but it doesnt. Now i cannot load desktop on both HD. is it the password that is causing the problem? any solution?

I have XP PRO with SP2 with norton security.

Don;t know if it is entirely the cause but have you loaded the Sata Raid drivers for the motherboard.

before the problem occured windows recognised the maxtor and so did norton partition magic. so i used partition magic to change the drive letters around.
