Maximum length for SVGA monitor cable

Hi all,

Have a phillips 17' widescreen monitor which I have just moved from one system to another.

It had a crystal picture on the last system which ran it from it's own cable and an aging 128Mb Radeon Graphics card.

Now connected to the onboard intel graphics on an MSI motherboard with its own cable and a 5m Belkin extension lead.

This is giving me 'ghosting' like a badly tuned TV.

Do we think this is due to the cable run, the graphics capability or the fact there is a TV card installed!

Thanks, Epirb.

Is it ok without the 5m extension?.

But.... the monitor is on a wall mount and the PC is pretty rooted on the other side of the room...

Is installed and working fine.

Guess length not an issue but number/quality of connections is.
