I have Netgear router with wireless capability but am getting a very poor (Low strength) signal to a computer upstars using a netgear USB adaptor (plugged into the front of the machine). A lap top working in the same room with wi-fi has no problem connecting.

Could I use a wired connect to the computer. the cable would have to run out from the back of the house along the side wall and accross the front of the house and then up into the bedroom. Is there a maximum length for broadband signals?

thanks
