None of the reviews say anything about needing a new one. Only one suggests that it doesnt have the ability to be upgraded to a better one. The system should work out of the box with 99.9% of monitors.

The specification of the computer says that it just has on-board graphics click here. Three Pci slots, no agp and no pci-e slots.

So you either use the on-board graphics or buy an old style pci ( 33Mhz ) graphics card to drive the monitor. Unless you are using a wide screen monitor or into gaming, I would say the on-board graphics would do for general work.

Unfortunately the chipset they mention, P4M800Pro indicates that it should come with a AGP slot but the specification differs to that.

All this is based on the maxdata site showing the correct computer.

From a different angle.

What resolution do you want to run your monitor?

ed-o 1024x768 or 1028x1024

The onboard graphics will give you those resolutions.

The onboard graphics on this machine will stretch from click here to click here ( click on picture to enlarge )

Not saying yours will go that far, but it should reach the ones you want.
