max size of e-mail attachments

is there a maximum number of attachments that can be put in an e-mail, or a max size of total attachments. trying to send a load of holiday photos but keeps coming up errors. using outlook 2002

celticbhoy0, I think any limit is imposed by your ISP. You could try putting the photos into a folder, or compressing them into one zip file. They won't take any less space but your ISP has a limit on the number of files they may be happier. My cameras 3.2Mp pictures take about 800K each, so I usually resample them down to about 30 to 50k to make emailing more sensible.

Another alternative is to batch re-size them with something like the free Mihov Image Re-sizer. Then you could place them in one zip file.

YouSendIt, as suggested by johnnyrocker, works well, and is useful if you wish to send the pictures in higher quality. Again, place them in one zip file. 1Gb limit.

I use Irfanview to resize photos (including batch resizing), as well as viewing and occasionally for simple editing. click here
