Oh no it isnt.
Unable to open Help and Support in WinXP the error
message said marscore.dll not found.
I found it in Search BUT downloaded it, unzipped it and re entered it in C Windows System 32 and
also in C Windows PCHealth Helpctr Binaries.
Both locations I got from Google searches.
Windows still says marscore.dll not found.

You once had a thread on this, was it resolved and can anyone propose a way forward for me.
Thanks Mike

Perhaps one needs to register the file back in..

Click Start, then select Run, and type in..

regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\marscore.dll

Hope that helps...

Hi Sparks
No luck. This new PC came with WinXP not ME
I've done Windows Security updates but noupgrades since SP1.

The .dll I downloaded came from Kelly's tweaks but
I've not been able to do the RegSvr32 proposed,
the message read 'initialisation routine failed' for the system32 entry and 'the specified module could not be found' for the HelpCTR Binaries entry.

According to Search there are 3 versions of this
.dll in my system, all 109kb Application Extension
C Windows Program Files marscore.zip
C Windows system 32 and
C Windows PCHealth HelpCTR Binaries
it seems none are being picked up by Windows.
So its back to you
Mike

Plan B, would be to put your XP cd in the rom drive...then go to:

Start, Run and type in sfc /scannow

This should then check all your system files, and recover them from the cd...I haven't done this myself on XP, but works fine on 98...

Worth a try?

GOT IT.
Man you are a genius!!

I dont have a CD as WinXP came in the new PC.
But I tried scan now anyhow. The programme ran but didnt leave a message, so unthinking I tried Help and Support for more info, and got thru.

It seems that scannow verifes that all protected Windows Files are intact and in their original versions.

Job closed, thanks to all concerned
Mike
